This page is going to entail a bunch of the great works that I have created across the demanding school year; I hope you're impressed!
Foster!
This is the literary analysis paper I wrote at the end of our very first unit in AP Lit. in which we read the book How To Read Literature Like a Professor. The book was written by Thomas C. Foster. Within Foster's book are many theories on why author include certain strategies within their literature, as well as many of his own theories regarding what those strategies do to a story! Our assignment was to pick a book we have previously read, and either prove, or disprove four of Foster's theories within our paper--I scored a 99% on this "great work."

Apostrophe Hand Poem!
For this "great work" I had to write a five stanza poem on a topic of my choosing. I knew this one was going to be tough as I've never been any good at poetry; I stuck with a topic I know very well, which is baseball. I incorporated some interesting poetic elements within my poem, such as rhyme scheme along with unique syntax and diction! I worked very hard on this poem; I hope you enjoy it.

Personal Narrative!
For this assignment, we had to write a personal narrative following the conclusion of The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini. For this "great work" I had to tell a true story about my own childhood, just as Hosseini's main character Amir does many times throughout The Kite Runner. In my narrative, I told the story about the time I fell off of my bike and seriously injured myself; a foolish story, but one that's definitely worth the read! I hope you enjoy!

Metamorphosis Video!
My group and I made this video project directly after reading the short story The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. For this project, we tried to "remake" his story in a video parody of our own, please enjoy!

Creative Doctor Write!
This assignment was done shortly after reading the short story "The Yellow Wallpaper." This short story was about a woman who clearly had some type of mental issue, yet her husband continued to do nothing about it. For this writing assignment, we had to diagnose the woman in the story with the mental illness we believed she could have possessed. This assignment opened up my eyes to the world of mental illness and overmedication, I really enjoyed this assignment and the research that went into it.

O.F.O.T.K.N. Movie Review!
This was one of, if not my favorite assignment we got to do this year in AP Lit. Shortly after finishing Ken Kesey's novel One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest we got to watch the movie! But, after finishing the movie, there was a twist; we'd be writing our own movie review! I really wanted to focus on just the movie in my movie review, as those who have read the book know there are a few pretty big differences, I hope you enjoy it!

AP Essay Rewrite!
When prepping for the AP Exam (See AP Exam Page) as an AP class we did A TON of timed essay practice, For this particular assignment, we were able to take a practice write we had already written, and rewrite it with no time limit, put everything we'd learned into it, and make it one of the best pieces we'd written this year. I enjoyed this assignment a lot because as I compared my finished rewrite to some of my other timed practices I was able to see how much I've really grown as a writer across the year.

Beloved Book Cover Project!
This assignment was a pretty lengthy one, but I was able to learn a lot more about myself, as well as the author of Beloved, Toni Morrison. Throughout my developing of this project I researched a lot about symbolism, artwork, and influences on Morrison's book in correlation to the time period in which it was written. I then got to show off my lack of creativity in the producing of a new book cover for Morrison's novel.

Digital Essay!

Othello Blog!
|
For this assignment, we covered all of the pieces of literature read during our feminism unit, my essay revolved around the play written by Henrik Ibsen, A Doll's House.
|
For this online assignment, I blogged about who I think is to blame for the tragedy within Othello, dehumanization throughout the book, as well as some tips and tricks when learning to read Shakespeare!
